International Project Officer Events | 32-40 hours/week

The Dutch water sector can make a profound global impact in themes such as drinking water supply, coastal protection, circular economy and climate change adaptation. The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) enables the Dutch water sector to have an even greater impact internationally.

As our new events colleague you have the opportunity to work closely with international teams on water-related events worldwide. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague that helps us emphasize this through the organisation and communication of all types of events: large international physical events as well as hybrid and online events.
 

Your role

You coordinate and execute various (international) events to promote the Dutch Water Sector and match them to international business opportunities. You do this in close collaboration with your colleagues within the events team and other NWP colleagues. This means:

• You (help to) prepare, coordinate, and execute the organization of Netherlands Pavilions at international trade events such as IFAT Germany, WEFTEC USA, et cetera; 
• You enjoy promoting the event and take pride in getting as many relevant participants as possible by pro-actively approaching companies to sign up to participate;
• You are responsible for coordination of stand design, stand allocation, speaker management, and administrative support
• You have a pragmatic and hands-on role as host during the events (on-site);
• You handle communications with event organisers, stand builders, participating companies, speakers and partnering organisations such as Embassies and other network organisations;
• You prepare progress reports and final result reports on both operational as well as financial aspects of the event;
• You support the organisation of trade missions, study tours, platform meetings, master classes and webinars for international groups, both online and offline;
• You are the go-to-person when it comes to online events and live events hosted in The Netherlands, such as Aqua Nederland trade show;
• You approach an event as part of a larger customer journey and work together with the Marketing Communications team to keep the audience engaged, especially in an online environment (social media).

What we ask

• You have an entrepreneurial mindset, you are ambitious, and result-oriented; You can keep overview when working simultaneously on various projects;
• You are flexible and you like to roll up your sleeves, you don’t have a 9-5 mentality;
• You have an eye for detail and you are accurate;
• You can work independently, you like a challenge and you dare to take responsibility;
• You write and speak excellent Dutch and English; other languages are a plus
• The MS Office package, MS Teams and Zoom have no secrets for you;
• You have a bachelor degree, a degree in event management, communication and/or international business relations is a plus;
• You have 2-3 years experience working in a similar role and/or working the (international) events field
• Project management skills are a plus
• (International) travel is required for this role
• You have an open and learning mind, and the ability to work well in a team with a variety of people and cultures. 
• You easily adapt to changing environment.
