Internship Position YEP Team ('s-Gravenhage)

The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) has an opening for a enthusiastic intern to join the YEP team, preferably for four days a week for more than 4 months, starting as soon as possible (other options can be discussed). Would you like to gain experience while studying and working with both the private sector, NGOs, research institutes and Governments bodies? Are you interested in a dynamic environment in which sustainability, entrepreneurship, politics and international cooperation go hand in hand? Organisation

Young Expert Programmes (YEP Programmes), consisting of YEP Water, YEP Agrofood, YEP Energy and YEP Tailor-made, offers young Dutch professionals the chance to gain experience abroad, and young local professionals can take their first steps in an international working environment through Dutch organisations. YEP Programmes is carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Water Partnership, the Netherlands Food Partnership and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

Function

Within YEP Programmes, you are involved in facilitating communication for different target groups. During your internship, you will be working together in a dynamically composed team and with other NWP colleagues, based in our office in The Hague, and you will have frequent contact with organisations in the different sectors, ministries, and training bodies.  We are able to go to the office again, however, this is in line with the RIVM and depends on the developments around Covid.

During your internship you will be part of the selection committee with regards to new YEP proposals (providing feedback on applications for the YEP programme (for both organisations and young experts), but also networking with/contacting (potential) partners, hosting and assisting the YEP training sessions, conducting interviews and some additional communication tasks like Graphic design, using Photoshop, Indesign and you will be involved regularly be hosting business and social NWP events. In short, we invite you to become an all-round member of our team while focusing on your specific learning targets.

The YEP team is continuously working on improving this amazing programme. As an intern you are an important part of our team, and you will have the possibility to gain working experience and at the same time have the opportunity to attend the YEP trainings and work on your personal development.

Requirements

We are looking for a hard-working, open minded intern with excellent communication skills to support us in varied assignments.

What we want:

  • Relevant field of study like ‘international development studies’ or any water, agrofood, or energy related studies
  • International development/affinity with Water, Agrofood and Energy sector
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in English and Dutch
  • A broad interest in all facets of the Water, Agrofood and Energy sector and the SDG’s (Knowledge on climate action / SDG-13 is considered as an asset)
  • The ambition to have a focus on / or an existing network in Northern Africa, the Sahel region or the Middle East
  • Good social skills, environmental awareness / organisational sensitivity and representativity
  • A stress-resistant, pro-active, and flexible work attitude
