The objectives of the webinar series LATAM were to dive into the most pressing water issues in the region, exchange good practices and innovative solutions, and discuss current and future regional opportunities.
In cooperation with the embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama and Peru key water themes that need to be addressed in their respective countries were identified and five subjects were selected for this series of webinars. These were:
- Circular economy and water treatment
- Water quality
- Food security and water
- Watershed management and resilience
- Water governance
These virtual sessions were held in Spanish and tailored to a Latin American audience looking for inspiration, knowledge and expertise and to Dutch water actors with a potential stake in a region that is looking for answers to long-term water issues.
On average, 350 visitors participated in each session and more than 1,400 stakeholders in 19 countries (in the Americas) registered. Each webinar provided insights on the local context and good practices on the above-mentioned themes. Inspiring speakers shared their experiences and the audience participated during Q&A sessions.
