Working Group sessions Oman (online)
The Oman–Netherlands Water Taskforce invites Dutch companies, knowledge and research institutes, and other water-sector organisations to join two online Working Group sessions on 1 and 2 December 2026. The aim is to explore opportunities for collaboration between Dutch water expertise and Oman's water sector.
Organised by the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) in close collaboration with Oman's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) and Nama Water Services, the sessions will bring together Omani stakeholders and Dutch experts to exchange knowledge, explore innovative solutions and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
Whether you offer technologies, research expertise, practical experience or innovative approaches, these sessions are an opportunity to connect with Omani water-sector stakeholders, better understand their priorities and explore where Dutch expertise could contribute.

1 December 2026 | Water–Energy–Food Nexus and National Water Security
MAFWR is exploring the development of an integrated national system to strengthen water security and support decision-making across the water, energy and food sectors.
Theme: Developing an integrated national water security and Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus system

MAFWR is exploring the development of an integrated national system to strengthen water security and support decision-making across the water, energy and food sectors.
During the session, MAFWR will present its plans and roadmap, after which Dutch organisations will be invited to share their knowledge, expertise and relevant experiences in relation to the following three priority themes:
- National WEF Nexus modelling and decision support
- Sustainable water allocation and agricultural efficiency
- National data integration, governance and institutional coordination
Dutch organisations with expertise in water-resource modelling, agricultural water management, remote sensing, data integration, decision-support systems and integrated water management are particularly invited to contribute.

2 December 2026 | Water–Energy Nexus in Water and Wastewater Operations
Nama Water Services and Dhofar Water are interested in exploring practical approaches to improving energy efficiency and operational performance across water and wastewater services.
Theme: How can Nama Water Services and Dhofar Water reduce the energy intensity of desalination, water treatment and wastewater operations, while maximising water recovery, reuse and resource efficiency?

- Format: Online workshop

- Moderation: Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP)
Nama Water Services and Dhofar Water are interested in exploring practical approaches to improving energy efficiency and operational performance across water and wastewater services. The session will focus on three priority themes:
- AI and digitalisation
- Wastewater treatment and reuse
- Energy efficiency in water treatment
During the session, Nama will present its plans and roadmap, after which Dutch organisations will have the opportunity to contribute. The session will provide a platform to exchange knowledge on solutions, technologies and approaches that could help address Oman’s water challenges.
Dutch companies and knowledge and research institutes working on water and wastewater treatment, desalination, energy efficiency, water reuse, resource recovery, digitalisation and AI are invited to share relevant expertise and explore potential areas for cooperation.

When registering, you can indicate whether you would like to actively contribute to one or more of the priority questions. This will help NWP and the Omani session leads identify relevant expertise and speaker candidates, to shape the discussions around the participants' knowledge and experience.
Oman-Netherlands Taskforce on Water
The Task Force aims to strengthen the relationship on water between the two nations and explore concrete opportunities for water cooperation. The Task Force consists of a government-to-government body, with representatives from government bodies and ministries, Nama Water Services (formerly Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company), and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Oman. In addition, there are two thematic Working Groups, open to the entire Dutch water sector.
Since its founding, there have been numerous meetings, reciprocal exchanges of knowledge, and follow-up meetings. Building on the outcomes of previous Working Group sessions in May 2026, these meetings continue the dialogue between Dutch and Omani water-sector stakeholders and help identify concrete opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
