Riva is a global network of independent, locally led organisations working to strengthen water, sanitation and other essential public services. Formerly known as IRC, Riva builds on nearly six decades of experience in water and sanitation, combining deep sector expertise with a systems approach to create lasting change.

Riva works with governments and other partners to strengthen the systems and institutions behind essential public services. Its work includes providing knowledge and advice, developing leadership and professional capabilities, and bringing stakeholders together to address complex challenges. Water and sanitation remain at the heart of Riva’s work, alongside a growing focus on the wider public service systems in which they are embedded.

The Riva network brings together locally led organisations across Africa, Asia and Europe. Its model combines local leadership and decision-making with shared knowledge, expertise and connections across the international network.
