ZOA

ZOA is an international relief and recovery organization supporting vulnerable people affected by violent conflicts and natural disasters in fragile states, by helping them to realize dignified and resilient lives. ZOA operates in more than 12 countries, in difficult locations where our field staff directly provides assistance to the most vulnerable victims of displacement. The countries in which ZOA is present are: Colombia, Nigeria, DR Congo, Burundi, Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Myanmar

In its programmes, ZOA focuses on Climate Resilience, Peace Nexus and Localisation. Sustainable water management is closely connected to these three themes;

1. Inclusive water management contributes to peace, as voices of all stakeholders must be heard.

2. Good water management also contributes to resilience of people towards negative trends of climate change.

3. Most importantly water management needs to be locally led.

ZOA wants to invest in water management in countries such as DR Congo, Sudan, South Sudan, Yemen, Ethiopia, and Myanmar. These countries have a context of active conflicts that have a negative impact on local and national water management, creating additional vulnerabilities for the consequences of climate change.

Join us in the journey of finding ways to work on sustainable water management solutions in fragile and (post) conflict contexts.
