Joris Bengevoord joins NWP Advisory Board
NWP is pleased to welcome Joris Bengevoord to its Advisory Board. He succeeds Luzette Kroon as the representative of the Dutch water authorities.
The Advisory Board reflects the broad Dutch water sector and gives NWP overall strategic guidance on the sector’s needs, priorities and developments. It is part of NWP’s governance structure alongside its management and Supervisory Board.
Bengevoord has been the Dijkgraaf of the Brabantse Delta Water Authority, an NWP member, since October 2025 and joined the Board of the Dutch Water Authorities in July 2026. His portfolio includes international affairs, innovation and education. In this role, he helps strengthen international cooperation and represents the interests and expertise of the 21 Dutch water authorities.
He is also already closely connected to NWP’s international activities. In September, Bengevoord joined representatives from across the Dutch water sector for a constructive meeting organised by NWP with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. The discussion focused on the strategic role of water in international cooperation and Dutch foreign policy.
NWP’s Advisory Board meets four times a year to provide strategic guidance and advice on the needs and priorities of the Dutch water sector. Chaired by Henk Nieboer, the Board brings together representatives from across the sector, reflecting its broad range of expertise and perspectives.
As a member of NWP’s Advisory Board, Bengevoord will bring the perspective of the Dutch water authorities, drawing on his experience in regional water governance, international cooperation and innovation.
