Bangladesh Delta Plan
In September 2018, the Bangladesh Delta Plan, which was developed in cooperation with the Netherlands, was approved by the Bangladesh Government. The Bangladesh Government is planning to spend USD 37.5 billion by 2031 on implementing the Bangladesh Delta Plan. The Dutch water sector has had a presence in various projects and initiatives in Bangladesh. A consortium led by Twynstra Gudde is working with Bangladesh and providing technical support to the delta plan. Bangladesh and the Netherlands recently signed the Joint Cooperation Programme that aims to develop long term knowledge sharing and capacity building in integrated water resources management, integrated coastal zone management, flood and drought management, urban water management and adaptive planning.
