NWP maintains a strong network in the Asian region, specifically in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam. In addition, NWP’s activities are increasingly extending to countries like Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
As part of NWP’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international cooperation on water-related challenges, NWP facilitates knowledge exchanges. For instance, NWP has been organising thematic learning weeks in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for several years in a row. Here, large groups of delegates from multiple Asian countries involved in ADB-supported initiatives explore inspirational case studies and take part in field visits to carefully selected locations across the Netherlands. These learning weeks act as dynamic platforms for delegates to engage with experts, discuss specific challenges, and explore potential solutions from both Dutch and international perspectives.
Expanding international cooperation and fostering valuable connections are at NWP’s core. Throughout the years, NWP has built a solid reputation for its strong track record in coordinating international missions for the water sector. It is this efficiency that leads both long-standing partners and more recent connections to rely on NWP for their water-related goals. In the last few years, for instance, the region of Sarawak (Malaysia) has found in NWP a strong partner for the coordination of business visits to the Netherlands. Dutch water sector parties also put their trust in NWP for their participation in international events such as IFAT India, and outbound missions like the 2025 mission to Indonesia.
