We encourage initiative, creativity and ownership, and you'll quickly see the impact of your work.

As an intern, you'll work in the Marketing communications & Events teams, led by the Marketing and Communications Manager. You will:

  • Create and/or publish engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook and other communication channels;
  • Write, edit and proofread content for our websites, newsletters and social media;
  • Design visual communication materials, such as social media graphics, banners and presentations according to NWP or NL branding guidelines, using Canva and PowerPoint;
  • Support the promotion and communication of international trade fairs, trade missions, incoming delegations and other events;
  • Support the Marketing communications & Events teams on-site during events, such as NWP member meetups, stakeholder events, and networking activities, helping with event coordination, registration, photography, social media coverage and welcoming participants;
  • Edit short videos and help explore new communication formats;
  • Contribute ideas during team meetings and brainstorming sessions;
  • Depending on your study programme, combine the internship with a research or graduation assignment that aligns with NWP's work.

Who are you?

You are an enthusiastic Bachelor's or Master's student in Marketing, Communication, Media, International Business, Event Management or a related field.

You also:

  • Enjoy writing and have an excellent command of English.
  • Have a sharp eye for detail and enjoy proofreading and producing accurate, high-quality communications.
  • Have an affinity for design and visual communication and enjoy working with tools such as Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Are familiar with Microsoft Office and Teams, and with website content management systems such as Drupal or Wordpress.
  • Are proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of your work.
  • Enjoy working in an international environment and collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds.
  • Are curious, creative and eager to learn.

At NWP, English is our primary working language, as we collaborate with colleagues and partners from around the world. However, our projects and communications focus also on the Dutch market. Therefore, native-level Dutch is a strong advantage.

What we offer

At NWP, you'll become part of a small, enthusiastic and international team where your work truly matters. You'll have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop your communication skills and contribute to projects with real impact in the Dutch and international water sector.

We offer:

  • A meaningful internship with real-world impact;
  • A chance to expand your professional network both in the Netherlands and internationally;
  • Guidance from experienced communications professionals;
  • A collaborative, supportive team in a vibrant international working environment;
  • Above all, a challenging and innovative learning environment, where initiative is appreciated!

Practical information:

  • Internship allowance, as appropriate;
  • Start date: in consultation;
  • Duration: at least 4,5 months;
  • Full-time internship (40 hours per week);
  • We expect interns to work from our office in The Hague at least 80% of the time, with flexibility to work from home on the remaining days;
  • Because collaboration is an important part of this internship, we are looking for someone whose travel time to our office is ideally no more than one hour by public transport.
