In the morning, there will be parallel sessions on monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals, Start-ups & Scale-ups, progress made on the Amsterdam Agreements, and the outcomes of the High Level Panel on Water.
Roundtables on many global water issues
The afternoon consists of a plenary session with keynotes by representatives of government, knowledge institutes and industry and 15 roundtables, all within a framework of the topics of:
- Water efficiency and value
Resource recovery, finance, water stewardship, circular water cycle
- Water management and resilience
Resilient cities, adaptive measures, monitoring & early warning systems
- Institutional transition and governance
Institutional capacity, bankability of utilities, economic resilience
- Innovative water system implementations
Micro-pollutants, asset management, ICT & data, desalination
A networking reception and a special Summit dinner (invitation only) wrap up the programme.
Agenda-setting outcome
The dialogue at the AIWW Summit 2018 will result in a final position paper that will form the basis and inspiration for next year’s Amsterdam International Water Week, taking place on 4-8 November 2019.
