A three day mission (17-19 July) to Boston, accompanied by Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Special Envoy Henk Ovink, will build on existing US-Dutch water partnerships, identify market opportunities, create new possibilities for cooperation, and expand the US-Dutch network. Round tables, site visits and working sessions will address resilience and urban resilience, water management, water technology and flood protection at a regional and local scale. Dutch organisations interested in doing business in the USA are welcome to join the mission.
Climate change and resilience
The north east of the USA is especially prone to the consequences of climate change and is willing to adapt and bolster its resilience. Boston has prepared its Climate Ready Boston Initiative (https://www.boston.gov/departments/environment/climate-ready-boston), and Massachusetts recently allocated USD 2.4 billion for climate resilience investments. Furthermore, local water infrastructure requires adaptation to new standards to become future resilient. The economic mission to Boston will focus on both urban resilience and water technology, and can stimulate your activities in the US water market.
