Taste the future at NFP World Food Day
The Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality will host the sixth NFP World Food Day event on 16 October 2024. This interactive in-person networking event will take place at the historic Rijtuigenloods in Amersfoort and bring together the agrifood community to discuss and share knowledge on transforming food systems to meet the challenges of a changing world.
Side event: Tasting the future; taste unique dishes made from salt-tolerant ingredients
Through a dynamic panel discussion on "What Can Salt-Tolerant Crops Do for Food Systems?", experts from Van Hall Larenstein, the Salt Doctors, and Wageningen UR will share insights into how these crops can transform agriculture in marginal environments, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and contribute to the development of more sustainable food systems worldwide. This session, hosted by the Saline Water & Food Systems (SW&FS) Partnership, will be held at 11:30 AM in Wachtkamer 1. Join the debate on saline agriculture and enjoy a tasting featuring unique bites made from local, salt-tolerant ingredients, expertly prepared by Flang in de Pan, a cooking studio from the island of Terschelling.
