To help bridge the gap between the 2019 and 2021 World Water Weeks, Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) will host the WWWeek At Home online from 24 to 28 August 2020.
This new format will bring together convenor-hosted, virtual adaptations of sessions on water and climate change originally planned for World Water Week 2020. The Dutch Government will convene several sessions and will be a co-convener in several interesting events throughout the Week. Participation is free and programme information will be available in early August
To contribute to this event and connect with the international water sector to accelerate action on climate and SDG 6, NWP will co-convene a couple of sessions with the Dutch water sector.
Solving the Water-Climate-Puzzle by connecting youth stories and decision-makers on 26 August, 13:00 – 13:45. More details.
Co-benefits of implementing nature based solutions for climate-related water and flood management on 27 August, 10:00 – 10:45. More details.
Sessions with Dutch participation
The Dutch Government, proudly serving as an official partner of this event, will convene several sessions on topics such as valuing water, climate adaptation and financing, and co-convene interesting events throughout the week. The Dutch Government and its partners Akvo, Aqua For All, IRC and NWP, have taken the initiative to turn the regular Dutch reception organised in Stockholm in every Word Water Week into an online experience. This virtual Dutch reception will be hosted on 28 August and will embrace the opportunities that virtual tools provide for networking and engaging people across the globe in a fun and interactive way.
The Dutch water sector will be well represented at the WWWeek At Home. To support the Dutch participation, will promote all Dutch contributions to this event via www.dutchwatersector.com. An overview of the sessions with Dutch participation can be seen here.
