Junior Project Officer

The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) is looking for a Junior Project Officer for our Project Management team.

As Junior Project Officer you get the opportunity to be involved in and contribute to every part of NWP’s operation. You work alongside experienced Project Managers on several projects simultaneously. This is a full-time position – 40 hours / week.

Not a day is the same in our office. Your line of work can vary from conducting market research, and coordinating and attending international events, to updating our member database, organising meetings in our offices, hosting webinars and platform meetings, and everything in between!

Therefore, our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset, is accurate and organised, flexible and able to adapt (sensitive to the environment), result oriented, and able to work interculturally. You aim to promote and position the Dutch water sector nationally and internationally. In addition, you contribute to the implementation of all NWP activities in the context of (government) programmes in the broadest sense of the water sector. 

Our organisation

NWP is the network organisation of the Dutch water sector. The Netherlands has a rock-solid reputation when it comes to water. We believe this expertise can make a difference worldwide. For this reason, we facilitate the Dutch water sector in export opportunities, international cooperation and promotion. NWP has about 175 members, profit and non-profit, from water technology to water infrastructure, NGO and Government. With these members, we create water impact worldwide. Your role

We are looking for someone to assist in the execution of activities within our Project, Event and Business Relations teams. Working in short and long-term projects alongside Project Managers to support Dutch water sector organisations making impact on water collaborations abroad. This may involve: 

  • Conducting research studies to identify collaboration opportunities for Dutch water organisations. 
  • Supporting the coordination of trade missions, study tours, platform meetings, master classes and webinars for international groups, both online and offline.
  • Assisting Event teams with the preparation, coordination, and execution of Netherlands Pavilions at international trade events and conferences. Ideally, you enjoy promoting activities and events, and take pride in getting as many relevant participants as possible by pro-actively approaching companies to sign up to participate. In addition, you have a pragmatic and hands-on role as host during events and member meet-ups.
  • Developing and co-creating member-driven events and activities.
  • Serving as a point of contact for our members so they can reach you with their questions, concerns, and ideas.

What we ask

  • You are eager to learn and develop yourself and not afraid to expand your work experience by taking on unfamiliar tasks.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset; you are ambitious, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • You have strong coordination skills.
  • You can keep an overview when working simultaneously on various projects with several Project Managers, because you have great planning skills and work in a structured manner.
  • You are outgoing and not afraid to pick up the phone.
  • You are flexible and you like to roll up your sleeves, you don’t have a 9-5 mentality.
  • You have an eye for detail, and you are accurate.
  • You can work independently; you like a challenge, and you dare to take responsibility.
  • You write and speak excellent Dutch and English; other languages are a plus.
  • The MS Office package, MS Teams and Zoom have no secrets for you.
  • You have a higher professional education (HBO) or University degree.
  • You have 1-3 years experience working in a similar role and/or working in the international events field.
  • International travel is required for this role.
  • You have an open, learning mindset and the ability to work well in a team with diverse people and cultures.
  • You easily adapt to changing environments.
