Corbey is pleased with her appointment. “I will bring my experience in the regional water authority and my experience in international issues to the role of Chair of the NWP. Climate change is one of the major challenges of our time, and water plays a central role in it. I am convinced that the Dutch water sector has a lot to offer. The Netherlands Water Partnership is a dynamic network of entities that contributes worldwide to solutions for water shortages, water problems and water quality. It is inspiring to work with the people at NWP, the member companies and organisations, and with partners in the water sector and I am looking forward to a successful cooperation.”
Referring to Corbey’s appointment as Chair of NWP, NWP Board Member Daniëlle Hirsch says that. “Dorette Corbey has plenty of experience in membership organisations. She can effectively share NWP’s vision while at the same time, keeping an eye on the dynamism in the network. Her varied experience in organisations that, just like the NWP, work towards the transition to a sustainable society, will help strengthen the international position of the Dutch water sector.”
Bianca Nijhof, Managing Director of the NWP, too welcomes the new Chair. “NWP will have a highly experienced and dedicated Chair in Dorette Corbey, and will benefit from her clear vision of the integrated and connecting role of water. I have full confidence that she will further strengthen the NWP network and foster collaboration to address worldwide water challenges, drawing on Dutch expertise.”
