On 18 December last year, Esat Akkaya and Martijn van de Groep were officially installed in NWP’s Supervisory Board, making the Supervisory Board complete. The Supervisory Board, chaired by Rob Steijn, comprises Dorette Corbey, Esat Akkaya, Martijn van de Groep and Rob Steijn. It works to safeguard NWP’s interests and its stakeholders' interests by providing oversight, guidance, and strategic direction.
New Supervisory Board member Martijn van de Groep is a senior policy advisor and project manager on integrated water resources management, agriculture transformation, transportation, and climate change adaptation. He gained international working experience in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Martijn states: ‘'I am genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring my expertise and unwavering dedication to the Supervisory Board. I look forward to collaborating with a team of esteemed professionals dedicated to driving meaningful change.”
New member Esat Akkaya currently works as a business controller CO₂ Transport & Storage Systems at Energie Beheer Nederland and previously worked at Arcadis for quite some time. He explains that ''having not worked in the water sector for a few years, I truly missed working with people with a passion for water. As a new member of NWP’s Supervisory Board, I hope to contribute to our great Dutch water sector and support NWP in promoting and serving the interests and needs of the Dutch water sector in the Netherlands and abroad.”
