Wavemaker United Academy
Young people all over the world are confronted with water challenges. They often have innovative solutions, but few networks or opportunities to implement them. Wavemakers United and several universities in the Middle East and the Netherlands are seeking to establish an international Wavemaker Academy through which to educate the youth in local communities about the multiple functions and values of water, food, and energy. In doing so, they will also enable them to share their learning within their own communities through guest lectures and readings.
Dutch Wavemakers, Young Expert Programmes and Wetskills established the Wavemaker Academy as a pilot project in South Africa for which they won the Valuing Water Pitch-a-Thon in 2020.
About Wavemakers United
Wavemakers United is a joint venture comprising Dutch students, young professionals in water management, food and energy, athletes and influencers, and is supported by the Dutch Government.
