Twenty twenty-four was a remarkable year for the Netherlands Water Partnership, one of reflection, celebration, and renewed ambition. As we marked 25 years of NWP, we looked back on key milestones, assessed our strategy, and strengthened our collective commitment to increasing the global impact of the Dutch water sector. Our anniversary celebration in November at the historic De Oude Bibliotheek in Delft was a true highlight. Members and partners from across the sector came together, not only to celebrate our achievements, but to look ahead and reimagine the future of water worldwide.

Amplifying the sector’s voice in policy

In 2024, we also took an important step in amplifying the voice of the Dutch water sector in the political and policy arenas. As the representative of our sector, NWP initiated a series of policy dialogues aimed at shaping national and international policy agendas to better reflect the needs, ambitions, and innovations of the water sector. The growing visibility of water in policy discussions is a clear sign of our collective progress.

Busy, bold, and on the move

We set out to keep this Annual Report short, but the sheer volume of activities in 2024 took us by surprise! From international missions to hosting visiting delegations in the Netherlands, the NWP team was on the move, pushing water up the global agenda and sparking vital conversations across sectors. A few of these highlights are shared in this repor t.

Bridging sectors and scaling impact

As always, NWP served as a trusted bridge between the public and private sectors and the knowledge community. This was reflected in the work of our high-level Advisory Board and in our strong partnerships with Dutch ministries, embassies, and other governmental institutions. International partners, especially embassies and government agencies, continued to turn to NWP for support with missions, matchmaking, market scans, and knowledge exchange. Our guiding principle, ‘share, connect, and involve’, remained at the heart of all we did, helping to bring Dutch water expertise to where it was needed most.

Looking ahead

While climate and water challenges grow more urgent and complex, so too does our determination. Together, as individuals, organisations, and coalitions, we are driving meaningful change and creating new opportunities. In the years ahead, NWP remains committed to enabling the sector’s success: by opening doors abroad, connecting knowledge and practice, and advocating for smart, future-proof water policy. Our role as connector, enabler, and advocate is more relevant than ever.
