From 9 to 11 September, IFAT India 2026 brings together water, sewage, solid waste, and recycling professionals from across South Asia and beyond in Mumbai.

India is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic and opportunity-rich markets for the Dutch water sector. Driven by urban growth, climate challenges, and large-scale infrastructure ambitions, the demand for innovative, integrated water solutions is accelerating across the country. For Dutch organisations—renowned for their expertise in water management, resilience, and water technology—this presents a unique moment to engage, collaborate, and scale impact.

Dutch delegation at the Netherlands Pavilion

This year, the Netherlands Pavilion hosts the following 13 organisations:

In addition, NX Filtration, also a Dutch organisation exhibiting at IFAT India, will join the delegation's programme.

The Pavilion, in Hall 6, stand G021, will offer a strategic place where to hear about the latest practices and approaches being applied by Dutch water experts. NWP organises the Pavilion in close cooperation with Holland Circular Hotspot (HCH), and receives support by the Consulate General in Mumbai and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

Dedicated collective programme at IFAT India

Alongside exhibiting at the Pavilion, the Dutch water sector will lead two key stage sessions on 9 September.

1. Panel session at the Blue Stage – Dutch Solutions for India’s Clean Water Transition
2. Panel session at the Orange Stage – Dutch Solutions to Waste Management

The sessions are designed to help Indian participants gain insight into Dutch offerings that match local and regional needs, convey Dutch knowledge and expertise within the Indian water sector, and spark meaningful connections.

Leading trade fair in India for water, sewage, solid waste, and recycling

IFAT India is the leading trade fair for water, sewage, solid waste, and recycling in South Asia, connecting professionals and decision-makers from across the region and beyond. The event serves as an important platform for exploring solutions to India's growing water and sanitation challenges, with strong alignment to national initiatives such as the Clean India Mission.

What makes this opportunity particularly strong is the coordinated approach between key stakeholders in both countries. Building on the Memorandum of Understanding on water between the governments of the Netherlands and India, government bodies, knowledge institutes, and industry partners are working closely together to translate ambition into concrete activities and business opportunities.

India–Netherlands Centre of Excellence on Water

At the heart of the bilateral cooperation on water is the India–Netherlands Centre of Excellence on Water, located in Delhi. This initiative—driven by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Delhi—serves as a platform to develop and implement pilot projects. The pilots are designed to demonstrate Dutch solutions in real Indian contexts, creating a bridge from innovation to scalable application.
