About NWP

The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) is the Dutch water sector's network organisation. The Netherlands has a rock-solid reputation when it comes to water. And we believe this expertise can make a difference worldwide. For this reason, we facilitate the Dutch water sector in export, international cooperation and promotion. NWP has a member base of 200 organisations - profit and non-profit, from water technology to water infrastructure. They all believe together we can make an even greater impact worldwide.

Your day at NWP

The NWP office is located right next to The Hague Central Station; at the International Water House. On entering the building you’ll pass our canteen where our hostesses serve meals at lunchtime. But lunch is still some hours away, so you first get your drink at one of our pantries, before you install yourself at a desk of your choice with the laptop of your choice (Mac or Windows). Or you might work from home, since working hours are flexible.

You put together the programmes of the Poland Country Platform Meetings. Much appreciated meetings to keep members and partners up to date on all kinds of water-related developments in Poland.

During a frequent round of calls you talk to our partners and members to stay up to date on their business and needs both in The Netherlands and abroad. You know how to convert the gathered information into concrete business opportunities and enthusiastically share your thoughts with colleagues to gather their views.

You spend your day talking to embassies, ministries, members and other partners and stakeholders. In co-operation, you are arranging business delegations’ visits to the Netherlands or outgoing trade missions. You are comfortable with G2G communication and know how to maneuver around possible sensitivities. Meanwhile making sure you manage your projects effectively and efficiently.

You also present your new ideas on how to optimize our NWP-members services. You follow up on leads that are generated from your network and that will lead to business for our members or NWP. You work out your plans for network growth and business development in Poland.

Summary

  • Signal new business opportunities and turn these into concrete opportunities for NWP and the Dutch water sector.
  • Initiate, build and maintain partnerships between Poland parties and the Dutch water sector; you will travel internationally several times a year.
  • Project management in collaboration with clients, partners and colleagues.
  • Account management.
  • Create value for our members and clients, and strive for customer intimacy.
  • Cooperate on a G2G level and in close contact with both Dutch and Poland Ministries in establishing meetings with relevant organisations and the preparation of trade missions.
  • Make results visible and share knowledge and experience gained.
  • Contribute to policy making by sharing ideas and expertise with contacts within the Dutch government and embassies.

What we ask

  • Higher education in a business-related field.
  • Affinity with or education in water technology is an advantage.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, networker and affinity with business development
  • Extensive knowledge of and work experience in Poland.
  • At least ten years’ experience in working on projects in a public or private environment.
  • A good command of the Dutch and English language is required; knowledge of the Polish language is an advantage.
  • Network-oriented, goal oriented, commercial, business minded, proactive, structured (organising and coordinating skills), accurate, customer focused.
