Nelen & Schuurmans is a water management consultancy & IT company. Our mission is to contribute to a healthy, safe and resilient environment. On the IT side we provide two different solutions: Lizard is a data warehouse and analytics platform for the physical environment which is able to integrate other systems and data through our APIs and 3Di is a state-of-the-art hydrodynamic flood modelling service, available both online (browser-based) and locally.  On the consultancy side we have five business lines focusing on specific topics: urban water (drainage, sewers etc.), climate change adaptation, operational water management and energy, flood risk, agriculture and integrated water management. The core of our activities is taking place in The Netherlands with partners such as consultancy companies, Dutch municipalities, water boards and other government bodies. We are also very active abroad with projects for the World Bank, European Funded projects and projects for several Dutch embassies such as Egypt, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Our state-of-the-art technology and broad knowledge base are applied across the world as well as locally in The Netherlands. We have enabled all kinds of stakeholders ranging from small-holder farmers in South-East Asia to be more resilient in the face of climate-change, to governments in India and Australia who wish to manage floods and calamity risk better.

While much of our work focuses on water management, we constantly innovate and expand our range of services to include related fields of interest, such as our soil subsidence information service and sustainable river basin management. Through our geospatial and IT tools combined with a team of data and earth scientists we are able to collaborate with a range of clients and actors to create innovative solutions for complex water-related challenges.

Being member of NWP has brought some interesting and challenging projects under the partners for water program. A successful example is the creation of our branch office in Taiwan.
