With 189 member countries, the World Bank Group is a unique global partnership fighting poverty worldwide through sustainable solutions.
Since 2013, the World Bank has requested NWP to organise tailored study tours with the aim of enhancing the capacity of high level government officials from client countries and of World Bank staff to design and implement water programmes. Study tours entail site visits; discussions with Dutch policy officers, experts and implementers; learning and reflection sessions; and sharing experience and best practices among group members.
On 29 June 2020, NWP and the World Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support West Africa’s efforts to build coastal resilience. Developed under the West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) Program, this marks an important step towards making Dutch expertise in coastal and flood management available to West African countries.
