Dutch and Malian water sectors intensify collaboration on business development and SDG 6

Within the framework of the Water Support Programme, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NWP and the Partenariat National de l’Eau du Mali (PNE-Mali), a member of the Global Water Partnership, will catalyse the interests of the Dutch-Malian water sector.

Under this MoU, improved technical assistance and capacity building will enable PNE-Mali to strengthen its capacity to effectively operate as a representative of the Malian water sector and contribute to the achievement of the targets set by Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) in Mali.

PNE-Mali has agreed to assist the Dutch water sector operating in Mali with networking and basic information on the status of water in Mali. The MoU will reinforce the positioning of the Dutch water sector in Mali and will lead to more business opportunities for Dutch organisations to develop and/or be part of country-based water activities contributing to SDG 6.

The Water Support Programme is an advisory programme established by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and executed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and NWP. Through the Programme, the Dutch Government supports Dutch embassies in 11 partner countries to implement water programmes.
