NWP collaborated with NoWNET at Stockholm World Water Week, stressing the importance of water partnerships

The session was hosted by the Northern Water Network (NoWNET) - a network of 11 country-level water partnerships, with more than 1,000 member companies and organisations in Europe, as well as Japan, and the Republic of Korea. NoWNET partners, together with the World Water Council and Global Water Partnership, discussed ways of effectively transforming water community architectures to accelerate action through the value added by multi-stakeholders platforms to achieve the SDGs. NWP is a founding member of the NoWNET network.
 

Co-creating future-proof solutions for a sustainable, water-secure future

Rick Elmendorp, Director of the Netherlands Water Partnership, pointed out during the session that “Our role has changed since our founding in 1999, but our goal hasn’t: co-creating future-proof solutions to accelerate impact for a sustainable, water-secure future. NWP believes that partnerships are crucial to fulfil this mission, and we work every day with our members and strategic partners worldwide to secure our future goals. We actively seek out collaboration with other sectors, because we feel that connecting expertise across sectors, such as food and energy, and connecting water and maritime services and their practitioners for integrated action, will lead to solving the global water challenges of the future.”

The session was incredibly well-attended, highlighting the significant value the SWWW attendees place place on water partnerships. This strong turnout reinforces our collective commitment to fostering collaboration in the water sector.
