YEP Programmes celebrates its 10th anniversary
This year, Young Expert Programmes (YEP) celebrates its 10th anniversary! In a special anniversary edition of ‘YEP Effect’, the Programmes’ magazine, we celebrate these 10 years by reflecting on our activities, meeting the very first partners, connecting with the ‘founders’ of YEP, and sharing stories of alumni who are now involved in our training and coaching programme.
Young Expert Programmes (YEP) consists of YEP Water, YEP Agrofood, YEP Energy and YEP Tailor-made.
It all started with YEP Water in 2013. In 2015 YEP Agrofood was added, and in 2020 YEP Energy was the latest addition. The programmes have different focus themes, but Young Experts from the different groups follow the programme in mixed groups.
YEP Tailor-made is the alternative for organisations and programmes that are already funded by the Dutch Government. YEP Tailor-made offers organisations the opportunity to purchase YEP's unique training and coaching programme, without making use of the financial support.
YEP Programmes is coordinated by the YEP Programme Bureau. The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) acts as the Programme Bureau's lead agency.

NWP would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who is and has been involved with NWP in building and creating this amazing programme over the last 10 years: the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP), the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all the trainers, coaches, partners, mentors, supervisors, and last but definitely not least the ones that make the Programme – the more than 800 (alumni) Young Experts!
The future of the water sector
The main goal of the YEP Programmes is to offer young Dutch professionals the opportunity to gain experience abroad and young international professionals the opportunity to gain experience in working in an international environment through Dutch organisations.
YEP Programmes contributes to dynamic international Water, Agrofood and renewable Energy sectors by rejuvenating them, strengthening networks and encouraging innovation. So far, more than 800 Young Experts have started their international careers through YEP Programmes.
