We are pleased to invite you to join a targeted Dutch water mission to the Borneo International Water & Wastewater Exhibition & Conference 2026, taking place from 15–18 July 2026 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
This mission is organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Malaysia and Netherlands Water Partnership, designed for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions that want to build strategic relationships and explore concrete opportunities in Sarawak, Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.
Sarawak is one of Malaysia’s most dynamic and internationally ambitious states. The state is investing heavily in modernisation, climate resilience, water security, flood resilience and wastewater infrastructure. At the same time, Sarawak has shown clear and sustained interest in Dutch expertise. Over the past three years, Sarawak delegations have visited the Netherlands on three occasions, focusing on integrated water management, nature-based solutions, flood resilience and wastewater treatment.
During the opening ceremony of BIWWEC, NWP and the Malaysia Water Association Sarawak Chapter will sign an MoU. This MoU will provide an umbrella framework for long-term sector collaboration, knowledge exchange, task-force development and follow-up activities towards the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2028.
Participation in this mission will help Dutch organisations to build strategic relationships with Malaysian and Sarawak stakeholders;
With the theme “Global Partnerships for a Climate-Ready Water Future”, BIWWEC 2026 provides an excellent platform to connect Dutch solutions with urgent regional challenges.
The expected participation fee per organisation is €1,000 with an RVO SIB voucher. The regular fee is €2,000. Flights, meals and accommodation are at your own expense. We are currently exploring accommodation options. For participating organisations, the conference fee will be included.
