At NWP, we understand that technology is fundamental to addressing issues related to the reuse of wastewater and that it plays a key role in adding value throughout the water cycle. To support this, NWP facilitates the international exchange of knowledge, expertise and experience, and facilitates others to do the same, thereby contributing to a circular economy and a sustainable future for all.
Water technology is not a stand-alone sector. It is part of a water management strategy in which integrated solutions and a multi-stakeholder approach are essential. NWP supports the development of water technology in the Netherlands and promotes international collaboration.
As a partner of the Top Sector Water & Maritime’s TKI Water Technology cluster, NWP develops initiatives aimed at sharing emerging technological developments and bringing innovations to market. These initiatives range from producing thematic podcasts featuring Dutch experts to organising matchmaking sessions involving technology providers, knowledge institutes and government organisations.
In addition, in collaboration with the Dutch Government, NWP hosts international delegations and shows them the latest innovations on water management and technology. Similarly, we showcase the Dutch water sector’s water technology solutions and innovations worldwide through the website Dutchwatersector.com.
NWP also fosters the use of water technologies to recover nutrients and turn them into valuable products. We do so through the work of the Nutrient Platform, a cross-sectoral network of Dutch organisations committed to accelerating the transition to sustainable nutrient management by developing a market for recycled nutrients. NWP hosts the Platform’s Secretariat and support Platform’s members by coordinating communications and the Platform's activities.
For over a quarter of a century, NWP has been sowing the seeds for collaboration across the water sector. As water-related technology continues to advance in the Netherlands, we continue to facilitate partnerships. If you would you like to explore possibilities for collaboration or would like to learn more about the work that we do to promote Dutch water technology and accelerate the translation of research into market-ready applications, contact us.
