The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) was honoured by a visit of mister Hussain Al Balushi, the Chief Financial Officer of Nama Water Services (also known as Oman Water & Wastewater Services Company OWWSC) from 19-21 June 2023. NWP Colleagues Sabrina Doetjes and Marieke Leenhouts arranged several meetings to facilitate knowledge exchange and matchmaking.
Following up on the connections made during the trade mission last March to Oman Sustainability Week and in line with the work NWP does for the Oman Strategic Task Force on Water, NWP prepared a meeting schedule for the CFO of Nama Water Services in order to connect him with representatives of the Dutch public and private sector and knowledge institutes.
Mister Hussain Al Balushi met with Ghada Sukkar of Dutch Water Authorities, Peter Dane of the European Benchmark Cooperation, Bob Oeloff of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management, Martine van Weelden at Capitals Coalition, Ward Hagemeijer of Wetlands International, Mark Janssen Lok of Dunea, and Jan-Willem den Besten of IUCN.
He also attended the NWP Member meet-up, connecting with several private sector members of the NWP network.
Next to that, NWP initiated a visit to the Water Campus in Leeuwarden where he was hosted by Harro Brons of our partner Water Alliance.
On behalf of mister Hussain Al Balushi, we would like to extend a big thanks to all the parties involved for making time in their busy schedules to meet and to contribute to the inspiring conversations!
At NWP we were excited to learn more about the promising developments in the water sector in Oman. We are looking forward to many more opportunities to share, connect, and involve the Dutch and Omani water sectors.
