NWP members’ summer meetup: Share, Connect, Involve
This summer’s NWP member meet-up took place at the International Water House in The Hague on 8 September. Once again, NWP put into practice its philosophy of ‘Share, Connect, Involve’ at this inspiring get together.
It was an opportunity for members to re-connect with familiar faces, strengthen their ties with NWP staff, and meet some of the newest NWP members. The meet-up welcomed around 45 attendants. The atmosphere of the event was relaxed and the setting informal, making the networking an enjoyable experience. RAS Catering took care of nice beverages and tasty snacks throughout the afternoon.
After welcoming everyone to the meet-up, NWP Business Relationship Manager Arjan Braamskamp reflected on the past year and looked ahead to upcoming events and activities in 2022 and 2023. After that, three of our newest members introduced themselves with short presentations. Wala’ Abdallah, Regional Water Expert and Researcher at Fanack Water, kicked off with a presentation of Fanack Water’s work on country reports, storytelling and the upcoming Water Atlas Series in the Middle East and North Africa region. After that, Menno Broers, board member at the Energy from Water Association, gave a brief presentation about the Association’s vision on how to promote better water management worldwide while generating energy at the same time. Christian Beuzel, Sales and Business Developer at NX Filtration, closed the round of presentations with an impression of their innovative membrane solutions and how these can be used in improving water treatment.
Today’s meet-up was a very good and positive experience. It was a good opportunity to come into contact with each other again, talk to each other and exchange ideas. It is very helpful to get an idea of what people are working on and whether we should be seeking each other out more often.

Today’s event was excellent. It was a good opportunity for an NGO like ours to meet different people, and hear what others in the sector are doing. We should have these events more often so we can meet organisations that we have a lot in common with, but have not yet met.

After the introductory pitches, there was plenty of room for networking and reconnecting. NWP was glad to be able to host its members again in its very own premises after two challenging years of digital meetings due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are excited to continue teaming up with our members and look forward to embracing the many opportunities that lie ahead for them and for the Dutch water sector. The next date to mark in the calendar is 1 December when we will host the end of the year meet-up.
